DO YOU THINK, YOU ARE BRILLIANT IN MATHEMATICS ?

The study of mathematics, like the Nile,
begins in minuteness but ends in magnificence.
charles caleb colton

Above quote explains everything about mathematics in a simple sentence. Watch the following video to understand, how vast is mathematics.

Problem given in video is given below. Try to spot the math errors in this problem.

How To Blend Images Together In GIMP 2.8 in Linux ?

Blending images together is a simple task in GIMP. In GIMP, there should be atleast three image layers for blending. An image created by blending three image layers is given below.

Watch the following video to blend images easily in GIMP.

Following steps explains, how to blend image layers in GIMP.

Open the images to be blend, in layers.

After opening all the layers, select Filters => Animation => Blend.

A dialogue box will appear where you can change various parameters of blending, such as number of intermediate frames, maximum blur radius, whether Looped etc. Then press OK.
It will take some time to create the final image. New image will open in a new GIMP window.

How to Use Edge Detect Function In GIMP Image Editor In Linux ?

Click here to read all blogs of GIMP.

Edge detection is a mathematical method which aims at identifying points in a digital image where brightness of the image changes sharply, or more formally. The points at which brightness changes sharply are organised to edges. GIMP provides an option to detect the edges of an image easily. Watch the following Video to use Edge Detect function easily.

Edge Detect menu is categorised under Filter menu in GIMP. To use the Edge Detect function.
take Filter => Edge Detect => Select appropriate Edge Detect Method

Methods Of Edge Detection In GIMP.

Original Image.

Difference of Gaussians Method of Edge Detection.

Difference of Gaussians algorithm can be used to increase the visibility of edges and other detail present in the image. Difference of Gaussians algorithm removes high frequency detail that includes random noise. This approach is commonly used for images that includes high degree of noise. Read more on this topic here.

Edge Method Of Edge Detection.

This algorithm can be used to detect the edges more clearly. Image created using Edge method of Edge detection is given below.

Laplace Method for Edge Detection.
The laplacian is a 2-D isotropic measure of the 2nd spacial derivative of an image. Laplacian of an image highlights the regions of rapid intensity change of an image. Laplacian operator is applied to an image that was firstly smoothed by a gaussian smoothing filter. Read more on this topic here.

Neon Method For Edge Detection.

Neon method of edge detection will produce an image as shown in the following figure. Radius and Amount can be adjusted in the dialogue box that will appear when neon method is selected.

Sobel Method For Edge Detection.

Sobel operator, sometimes called sobel filter is used to create image that emphasizes edges and transitions. It is named after Irwin Sobel, who presented the idea about an "Isotropic 3x3 Image Gradient Operator" in 1968. Read more on Sobel Operator here.
