How to Create Ripplings In an Image Using GIMP Image Editor In Linux ?

Creating ripples in an image is an interesting task. GIMP provides a direct option to create ripples in an image. A rippled image will be as shown in the following image.


Watch the following video to create rippled image easily.


Do the following steps to create rippled image.
Filters => Animation => Rippling


A dialogue box will appear where you can change various settings of the rippled image such as Rippling length, Number of frames, Edge Behaviour etc. Now press OK.

It will take some time to create rippled image from actual image. Rippled image will open in a new GIMP window.

After successfully creating the ripplings, Export this image to PNG format. Read this blog on exporting an image to jpg or png format.
