How to Create Waves Over an Image in GIMP Image Editor Linux ?

GIMP provides an option to create waves over images. Creating waves in GIMP is a simple task. An image having waves, created using GIMP is given below.

Watch the following video to create waves easily.
Do the following procedures to create waves.
Filters => Animation => Waves

A dialogue box will appear where you can change various properties of the waves such as amplitude, wavelength, number of frames, direction of waves etc. Then press OK.

It will take some time to create the new image. New image will open in a new window and will be as shown in following image.

After successfully creating the ripplings, Export this image to PNG format. Read this blog on exporting an image to jpg or png format.
