How To Blend Images Together In GIMP 2.8 in Linux ?

Blending images together is a simple task in GIMP. In GIMP, there should be atleast three image layers for blending. An image created by blending three image layers is given below.

Following steps explains, how to blend image layers in GIMP.

Open the images to be blend, in layers.

After opening all the layers, select Filters => Animation => Blend.

A dialogue box will appear where you can change various parameters of blending, such as number of intermediate frames, maximum blur radius, whether Looped etc. Then press OK.
It will take some time to create the final image. New image will open in a new GIMP window.

After successfully creating the ripplings, Export this image to PNG format. Read this blog on exporting an image to jpg or png format.
